Terms of use

Use Blanc Notes for music that's yours or that you may use. Play fair in the arena. Plus and Pro renew through Apple until you cancel. Transcription can be wrong, so check a piece before you rely on it.
1. What Blanc Notes is
An iPhone app that turns music into editable piano notes, lets you style and practise them, export videos, and play other people in challenges. By using it you agree to these terms. If you're under 18, please read them with a parent or guardian. You must be 13 or over.
2. Your account
Keep your sign-in to yourself and tell us if you think someone else has used it. Choose a real name and a username that isn't offensive or pretending to be someone else; we may change or remove ones that are.
3. Music you bring
You keep whatever rights you have in what you bring in. Only transcribe, share or export music that's yours, or that you have permission to use — the app asks before it turns a piece into notes, and before it adds a recording's original sound to a video. Blanc Notes gives you tools; it doesn't give you rights to anyone else's music, recordings or videos, and fetching a video from a link doesn't either.
4. Pieces you share
When you list a piece in the arena or send it to a friend, you confirm it's yours to share, and you let other players preview and play it inside Blanc Notes for as long as it's listed or the match lasts. Only the notes are shared, never your recording. You can take a listing down at any time.
5. Playing fair
No cheating, no offensive titles or names, no harassing other players, and no trying to break or overload the service. You can report or block anyone from their profile. We may remove listings, reset medals, or suspend accounts that break these rules.
6. Transcription isn't perfect
Blanc Notes works best on clear solo piano. Notes it writes out can be wrong, especially with singing, drums or other instruments — that's why every note is yours to edit. Please check a piece before you rely on it.
7. Paying
Plus and Pro are subscriptions, and themes, palettes and characters are one-off purchases. Apple takes the payment; prices are shown in the app before you buy. Subscriptions renew until you cancel in your Apple account settings, and refunds are handled by Apple. Days of Pro given through codes or the Creator Programme run when you aren't already paying for Pro.
8. Creator Programme
If you join, label your posts as the programme asks, use #blancnotes, and only log posts you made. Rewards are days of Pro inside the app — never money — and are at our discretion.
9. Ending
You can stop using Blanc Notes and delete your account at any time from the app. We may stop offering a feature, or end an account that seriously breaks these terms, and will tell you if we do.
10. Our responsibility
We'll provide the app with reasonable care and skill. Nothing in these terms limits your rights as a consumer or our responsibility for things the law doesn't let us exclude. We're not responsible for losses we couldn't reasonably foresee, or for what you do with music you don't have rights to.
11. The law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the UK you can also bring claims in your local courts.
